Looking for an all-in-one dictionary and thesaurus for your iPhone? Look no further. WordBook (App Store, $3.99) is just the ticket.

Weighing in at 19.6MB, WordBook is packed with features that set it apart from other App Store offerings. If checklist features are your thing, this one should pique your interest:

• 150,000 entries, 220,000 definitions, 330,000 word links, 70,000 examples
• 120,000 pronunciation guides (with full audio pronunciations in several voices)
• Word origins for 23,000 root words
• Built-in thesaurus with word-links
• Browser-like definitions: tap a word to look it up
• Words of the Day (plus shake-to-shuffle)
• Alphabetical search plus partial-match, wildcard, sounds-like, and spell checking
• Favorites & History: fully editable, with sorting and export to mail

• Up to five customizable web dictionaries to supplement local content

Of course, checklist features aren’t everything. Fortunately, WordBook doesn’t disappoint in terms of usability, either. It’s fast and it really does get the job done. There are several options available in Settings : WordBook (of course, I’d love to see this accessible from the program itself - probably my only real complaint about this app) including font/size, profanity filter, starting screen, and more. I’ve got mine set to ‘Always Start in Search’ and it’s great - as soon as I fire it up, it’s ready to go with my search.

If you’re in need of a good English dictionary/thesaurus, WordBook does the job and does it well. I highly recommend it.
